About the Trip

Dear Friends,

From May 29 to June 8, 2015, we will be serving in an English Camp to the youths in Panama and sharing the gospel of Jesus. Led by Pastor Joel Tang, the team going is Ralph Wong, Samuel Yeung, Randall Chong, Jennifer Kao, and Michelle Martinez. With this opportunity to share the gospel with Panama students, our team wants to be obedient to God’s call to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). Our desire is to see God’s mighty hand to save. We are thankful for the chance to take part in His kingdom’s work, praying that we would come to see many being saved. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Matthew 9:37).

Panama City and the English Camp

For the past 12 years, the Chinese churches in Panama came together to organize an English Camp for its youths. The week-long camp held once a year between two school-terms in the Panamanian academic calendar. In 2015, it will be from June 1st to 5th.

The aim for the camp is to provide a warm and joyful atmosphere to help youths (ages 12-22) learn about God's love, and improve their conversational and written English through a variety of activities. The gospel message will be presented in Spanish and English to

ensure the attendants understand the contents and the spiritual challenges. We will also invite the youths and their parents to church and future activities.

Our Ministry

We will be teaming up with teams from Vancouver, Calgary, Brooklyn, and Houston to help provide an English speaking environment for the youths to practice their English language skills as well as encourage them spiritually. To help plan and participate in camp activities such as English Classes, skits, large group games, and crafts. In additional to the local students attending the camp, the camp also

provide an opportunity for the local church youths to serve. We will work closely with about 20 local youth leaders in leading and mentoring these young people. All of these local leaders return to their respective churches to serve in a greater capacity, becoming key leaders in their 2nd generation Spanish speaking congregations.

We will spending the first two days training and working with the other team to prepare for the camp. Then the rest of the week living and interacting with the campers.
